HDMI switching depends on more than plugging devices into the right ports.

Audio/video receivers from brands such as Denon, Yamaha, Marantz, Onkyo, Sony, and Pioneer often rely on HDMI-CEC, EDID communication, firmware, and signal stability to change inputs correctly.

Common Reasons an AV Receiver Will Not Change Inputs

Before changing settings randomly, it helps to identify the most likely cause.
