Replacement is usually the right move if the switch no longer powers on, will not enter pairing mode, or works intermittently after a verified good power source and network recovery.

Replacing the unit is also reasonable if the outage coincided with visible damage, persistent relay clicking, or failure across multiple reset attempts.

If you are dealing with a hardwired smart switch and are not comfortable opening the wall box, a licensed electrician can test line, load, neutral, and ground safely.

That is especially important in older homes, multi-way circuits, or installations with aluminum wiring.
